The Pros and Cons of Sharing Your Creativity On Social Media

Proper Creative Inspiration

Ok…so let’s be clear that content consumption and creation go hand in hand. Inspiration from someone’s content is perfectly fine. Using a creative idea to fuel your new unique design is normal. So for all of my fellow “think outside of the box” creators…girl if you don’t want an idea replicated don’t post it LOL…we are HUMAN…we are natural imitators.

To Share on Social Media -or- Not to Share

If you do post it and you want to discourage copying…brand and watermark your images. It may not be attractive on the image…but it will help to discourage someone thinking of copying. I make it habit on this account to copyright my mini blog captions and I watermark my REELS and IGTV. I do that because my design and creative direction exceeds my follower count and sometimes people can and try and use the content of small creators to promote their BIG brand without crediting the small creator.

Last…But Not Least

If you see that someone copied you…I know the first feeling is a sharp poke at our little design hearts. Remember this…YOU are the creative…YOU have the secret sauce…the original Blue Print is sketched in YOUR brain. They can copy….but that cannot take away your ability to be ORIGINAL.
